Speaker 1:

Hello everybody. Jeff Mason, your host is Simple Biz 360 podcast, simple biz three sixty.com is our URL home, and you can find us on YouTube, I gtv Gab tv, or 28 listening platforms. So we're so glad you're here today and we're gonna call this thing, uh, segment again, uh, something to think about. And it's part of our three in five series. So we're just gonna kind of throw three thoughts out there in five minutes. Let you have something to think about, right? And how does it affect your business? So let's talk about video calls, right? Ever since the pandemic, uh, many of us, myself include, have been on hundreds of these video calls, and what have we learned through this video call, um, you know, scenario, whether it's go to meeting or Zoom or whatever, you know? And so I just want you to chew on, on some of these things and think about'em, because I've noticed some of this stuff. So, um, what about if you consistently appeared on video calls with no video? What, what do you think customers really start to think about that? Well, I'll tell you what I think and what managers and what executives have shared with this that they think is, Hey, you know, why are we giving money to this person if they don't show up on the video? Is, are, are they not showering or are they not? Is is there place of work, unpresentable? Is this how they take care of our business? Is our business with them like, like just a dirty closet where they just throw dirty clothes in and, and close the door to hide it? I mean, what's going on? We don't, you know, we already have questions in, in this area, that area, in this area. And for this person not to show up on these video calls is rude. What's going on? So just think about it. If this is you and you are choosing not to shower or not to look presentable, or not to blank out your, you know, put a picture on your background or fuzz out your background and you're just, ah, you know what? I'm just not gonna show up on video. Do you really think that's the right thing to do? Especially if you are the vendor they're paying to provide some services. So I just think about that one a little better. And then what about, you know, when you're trying to get to, uh, you know, to this is issue resolution, right? There's an issue and you're, you're sitting there on this call, you've called this Zoom or, or go to meeting, and now there's four or five, six different people on here, and you've got some key management people, and all of a sudden they just disappear, right? 20 minutes into the video call, they're gone. The, the, the lead executive, the lead decision maker disappeared without any announcement, didn't tell you where they went, just vanished. Now what does that start to communicate without anybody saying anything? Well, I'll tell you what it, I'll tell you what I've faced in conversations with executives. Hey, what's that all about? Where'd this guy go? Where'd this girl go? I mean, we're trying to get to Theon with something they just bail out. I'm, I'll tell you what, Jeff, I'm not happy. So, you know, again, think about this. If this is you doing this, is this something, is this a perception you really wanna build? You know, it's gonna cost you, I think that's my guess. But you know, you, you do what you want, right? And then what about, you know, turning your video off, or even worse, leaving the video on and just start smacking away eating food, unwrapping rappers, you know? Yeah. Mm-hmm.<affirmative>, You know, I mean, seriously, is that really what you want to be doing? I mean, a again, you're, people are hearing you, it's disrespectful. What about typing? What about sitting there being on video and you, you know, you're obviously looking at your phone, you're obviously texting, you're obviously typing, you're obviously looking in files. Your, your undivided attention is not there. You're letting the world see this again. Is that really something that you want to, you know, leave with folks? Is that the impression you want to build? Is that the perception you want to build? So we just say, Hey, think about these things and you know, we're in the throngs of what we call the experience economy, right? So, you know, it's all about how we do business. And in these video calls we're put in how we do business front end center folks. So think about it. Give it some thought and, uh, you know, you can build negative or positive perception. So let's dip back. Uh, we always end each show with a great loss. In the shuffle tune, we're gonna dip back to 1965. This thing actually appeared, uh, in a ski movie called Ski Party in 1965. And then it was kind of renamed, I Got You. Or, I Feel Good, James Brown, right? You remember James Brown? A king of funk r and b Soul, Mr. Brown. I feel good. Oh yeah. So listen guys, enjoy it. It's gonna be up here in the upper right hand corner of your, uh, viewing experience. Click on that card, enjoy the YouTube version of this song, and we will see you in 168 hours.
