Speaker 2:

Hello everybody and thank you for tuning into the Simple Biz 360 podcast. My name is Jeff Mason, I'm your host and we can be found on YouTube Rumble TV, and 28 audio platforms. Our URL Home is simple biz three sixty.com . You can get our book in Kindle audio or paperback through the website, or you can go to Amazon and get it there. So happy new Year to everybody, 2024. Can't believe we're here already, but we just want to say, you know , we hope you had a great set of holidays to , to end 2023 and what a great way to start the new year. What if truth could lead the way? Now you gotta dip back into episode two 19. You have to, why? Because no sooner did I finish recording that episode than a friend told me a story about a distribution center where the owner brought all the employees to the conference room and said, look, we're gonna be late on every holiday order. Now, I don't care what you tell your customers, what kinda lie, you do whatever you need to, to, you know, weasel out of this and get out of this. But I'll make this point if we have too many returns, those who have had too many returns because of this debacle are gonna lose their job next year. So this, this kind of stuff happens all the time. It's happened in many, you know, cases over my career and , and bingo. Here's a point just, you know, and I'm sure this happened in 10,000 plus places this last holiday season, right? This is the way things go. So we say, Hey, wait a minute. We also argued in two 19 that the truth was good enough. And we've talked about the truth being good enough for many, many episodes over the last four years. So we just say, what about, you know, starting the new year off on the right foot and let truth lead the way, right? So in business, you know, let's just, let's just really park on this for a second. You know, forget what society says about, oh, what's your truth? Speak your truth. Now there's the truth and there's a lie and you know, it's not gonna deliver on Thursday, Mr. Customer, and or it is gonna deliver right on Thursday. So, you know, that's the truth. And if it's not gonna deliver on Thursday, then there's a reason or reasons why you can, you know , share with the customer and be truthful to those reasons. But there is no, my truth, your truth, there's just the truth in business. So that's the first thing you have to come to grips with. Second thing is we love you to go back in the book. It's a tool 139, and that's tell customers what they deserve to hear. And if you look at the back of this computer, if you're watching this show, there's a little , um, sticker on this computer called S 2D and an abbreviation stands for Serve to Deserve. So we, we say, tell the customer what they deserve to hear. This way they can manage the reality of the situation. If you give them a lie or tell them something that's off center and it's an embellishment or you fudged it, they can't manage it properly and they've got a business to run. They've got mouths to feed, they've got more, you know, second home equity loans they've taken out, they've got loans, they've taken it, come on, we've gotta be, you know, we've gotta help these businesses and be truthful with them. And then we say, dip back into tool number 93 in the book. And that's build issue resolution on realistic capabilities. So if you're gonna try to solve a problem either behind the scenes internally or you're working with the customer and trying to solve a problem base that resolution on realistic capabilities and not, you know, pie in the sky , um, embellishment lies and, you know, fictitious , um, solutions, just build it on reality and everybody knows what they're up against, wouldn't this be a great way to start the year out? If you're one of these chronic embellishes or liars or tall tell tellers, come on, let's just try the truth. It's so healthy. So any rate , we would love you to enjoy this to me . And every episode would just kind of att tune a rock and roll tomb that , uh, has a significance in our life. And, and this one certainly did in 1978, Billy Joel, first time I've had , uh, featured one of his songs on the show. And it is called Honesty. Great Tune 1978, Billy Joel, enjoy and we will see you in 168 hours .
